Leaving

I've fought this,
Fought you
For so long

I'm not sure how to live
With out fighting
Will my heart feel
As hollow as my insides?

What will be my purpose?
Will I be any use to you?
Will my eyes turn as black
As my now barren soul?

As endless days turned into
Empty nights I tried to pretend
That promises and prophesies
Were only words

Words that could not maim
That would not damage my fragile heart
As time passed each word was like a knife.
Cold and sharp. Brutal.

As the inevitable draws closer, I see.
My path has been altered
I must walk this path of blades

Leaving behind the comfort.
Leaving behind the light.
Leaving behind you.

When the pain gets too much
Remember...We breathe together

When life gets too hard
Remember... We stay together

When the trouble is too scary
Remember... We are unafraid together

Deny me not your tender embrace
It brightens the darkest of nights

I'm not sure how much longer we two can wander
Two hearts, two souls bound halfway the world around
Not yet able or ready to be, if only we could foresee
The bumps in the pathway, the call at the end of the day
Balanced by goodness, purity and light, Knowing in our hearts what's wrong and what's right
These thing we sustain have grown weak, causing pain

Burn ' s Night

The snow lay crisp as angel's hair.
As dawn awoke the world lay cold and bare
Was ever there a sight so rare?
What light! The sun! The glow!
Take flight and watch the path with care,
Or sit and watch the show!

Robert Burn is a celebrated Scottish poet. His poem are generally written in 6 line stanzas in an aaabab rhyme scheme, with the a lines written in tetrameter and the b lines in diameter. This was my little contribution today. I picked snow since the East Coast of the United States in currently Under Snowpoxalyse 2015.

Nightmare

Nightmare

The light is gone and hid from view

It disappeared one day

And took with it the sun and moon

‘Caused joy to pass away

A glimmer is all ‘twould take

To make the world okay

But now our life blood spills away

And we wait in nightless day

We’ll feast on the returning

Step once more, into the fray

Until that day, we shall march forth

Revelations

So terrified of what it means

What calls in the dark of night

You are the brightest of light

Intolerable what people think they can do

Used for money or power

Not important for what they portray
