Façade

Façade

We choose the face we show the world
And lose our grace as truth is hurled
Flung far and wide as others take
All our lives we live as fake

The price of love is what you pay
As all your friends you will betray
So we give up goodness sake
As our lives we live as fake

In the end the lie is real
As we forget how others feel
Then another heart will break
As all our lives we live as fake

mindless

I was going to write a poem today
But my brain did not want work that way
So I wrote these lines instead
To see where inspiration lead
And this is all I had to say

Cynical

Cynical

I think you think me a cynic
That I haven’t found the right man
But I’m not that much of a finick
He’s tall and handsome and tan
He’ll jolly but acquainted with fate
He’s eyes are grey, brown and blue
His hair is curly and straight
He’s skinny and fat and short too!
You can say I’m quite insane
It doesn’t matter to me
For when I met my twinflame
He looked anywhere but at me
So if, to you, I seem selfish
When you talk of fish in the sea
Remember that I HATE shellfish
And the mercury is poisoning me

Deadly

Deadly

Tell me of the howling of winds
That blow the bleakest black
Whisper of your darkest sins
God and I will hear of your slack
Whisper to me of cleverness
Of great deeds, of battles foretold
Don’t try to make it seem less
Clever or brave or bold
Remind me of your virility
Of women, of wine, of song
Don’t bother with humility
Tragic tales are often too long
Shout of your numerous possessions
Of which you only want more
These are private confessions
Not added to legend of lore
Adding substance to the world though
Would require much effort, a coup
Forgive the truly low blow
But that seems too much effort for you
The world must seem like an oyster
One that you wish to eat
You feel as though you’ve been cloistered
And lacking of anything sweet
Forgive my troubled verses
I see the ire in your eyes
Little effect have your curses
The truth will outweigh the lies.

The Revolution Will Be Live-Tweeted

The Revolution Will Be Live-Tweeted

While wiling away the lonesome hours
The fire dies away
The subtle form and plays for power
It makes you hang your head
And wonder at this hate filled world
A golden prince in a handsome tower
Keeping girls at bay
What’s the difference between defend and cower?
When words can wound like weapons
Children learn to wield them well
It’s amazing that women haven’t soured
Of lives lived certain ways
There must be a collective willpower
The revolution comes ahead of schedule
It has waited long enough
The time has come to overpower
The world as now it lays
We must o’erturn the bower
Precious things can be destroyed
Only time should be that precious
Once the world has been scoured
We will have our say
No longer will hate devour
And all the world will be empowered

#untitled poem

Closing in, almost a win
Tomorrow seems so far away
A long night, a bitter fight
Keeping creeping nightmares at bay

The sun appears and as the end nears
The fear is gone and dying
Time is telling, Joy is welling
There can be no denying
