One

Patches of skin
Tracing the patterns of old scars
A slow sinuous sharing of souls
Time seems to stop
As we lie together
My hands in your hair
Your hands everywhere
Dying
Languidly
As one

Haunting

In a wave of memory
A scent drifts past me
I knew you couldn't quit it
I knew you couldn't quit me
Haunting me in bursts
Shame I thought of it first
I wish I could quit you
I wish I could quit this
Painful and joyful the same
I'm dying to call your name
I fall over and over for you
I fall each minute for you
Souls forever bound
In your heart I'm found

Return

A patient pause gives way
Two hearts fluttering in time
As space between them builds
Their peace slowly dying
A beautifully staged play
But now the page turns
No longer bound as one
The world crashes and burns
All things are ending now
As everything eventually must
Time has come to concede
Return this relationship to dust

#untitled poem

Closing in, almost a win
Tomorrow seems so far away
A long night, a bitter fight
Keeping creeping nightmares at bay

The sun appears and as the end nears
The fear is gone and dying
Time is telling, Joy is welling
There can be no denying

Stars Taunt Us

Dazzling Stars that shine too bright
How do we know that you really exist?
Could you be an illusion we invented?
A brief figment,
Brought forth to cause us sorrow?
For having seen such beauty,
Why should we breathe?
Or is it a tease?
This real life,
We can only feign touch?
Is this all
A hallucination,
Or dying brain trying,
To convince us, to hold on?
I think I like that least of all.
