Whatever I was thinking

Believing I was worthy

You wouldn’t even look my way

Now I know why you won’t

Return my calls

You could not even justify

Spending the dime

I admit the rate of return

Is appreciably bad

What is there to keep me

In this barren, fruitless life?

No love, no reason for being

Would the world suffer my lack?
