Ditto

"I want to follow where you go"
Trail you through the dawn
All I can do is wait and trust
Even when I fall, I will rise
Perhaps this time, I will listen
The words are whispered and I intend to hear
No offer too obscure, This will leave my heart undeterred
A simple phrase repeating, "My soul is full"
Now it seems noises, hearts, dreams, and even time has stilled...
"Ditto"

Sense

The essence of you
Distilled
Waifs through the air
Carried on a silent breeze
You murmur sweet nothings
In my ear
As you run light fingers
Over my salty skin
While we watch the sun rise

Untitled #828

My eyes are like unruly hounds
They waver, close, and fall asleep
Encumbered with compassion
And the secrets that they keep
Until the moon grows thin
Until the seas run dry
Until the stars go dim
No inconstant, inconsistent love am I

...But....

Too many nights lay heavy
Burdened with my pain and your lies
I hope you know that I am ready
To carry your secrets and rise

....So....

Until the clock strikes elevens
No need to take it in your head to flee
Lying side by side
The pressure of you against me
I feel your burgeoning love
Laying aside me and mine
No need to move right now
The world itself will be just fine

....Because....

Everything has a beginning
And everything has an end
The middle is sitting right here.
Time and two and twice again
The sky turns blue and gold.
Morning seeks to part this pair
Should the universe achieve this goal
The whole world will find itself stripped bare.

Golden Chimes

Softly I turn to your eyes,
Burning with love...
How true this all feels,
Destined to do so much more.
A path from above awaits,
Talk of it does it no justice.
To the pealing of golden chimes,
Alone I kneel, together we rise.

Moments

A flurry of hands
Making me shiver
Making me quiver
Running all over me
Breathing comes ragged
Breathing comes staggered
I rise to your touch
Help me I'm falling
I think you're stalling
This moment is forever

Crux

Crux

Call out just once and I’ll be there
No matter how far away
Time will not alter or change me
My love is here to stay
Take time to make some revisions
I know it worries you so
But remember I will be here waiting
When you’ve reached your lowest low
The world does its best to break you
To put you down in your place
But I’ll be here to protect you
Wipe the shadows that darken your face
So call on me when the time comes
Lean on me, I’m steady as the Earth
But the hour is coming when questions will rise
Time to prove your mettle and worth

TOILM

TOILM
The crisp cold scent of morning,
As the steam rises from my mug.
My hands embracing
The one I love most.
No longer interested in coffee
My strength comes from somewhere new,
We rise and fall,
To the beat of our hearts,
Gently,
Then more rapidly,
Stars explode,
And a cup of coffee
Sits,
Cooling on a windowsill,
Forgotten

Some Scraps of Poems

From now on I need to steel myself from the darkness,
My hard choices need to come swiftly now
One follow another in rapid succession
Time has come to rise to the action and make bold statements
Not always the popular decisions to bear the burdens
A life of single blessedness is a cursed choice
What is necessary is right in God's eye and mine

Staring through crisscrossed eyelashes
Looking for courage in diminutive frames
Time will come soon enough
When light explodes through shattered seconds
Experience the feeling of fractured repose

Life

Life
Lost ground and lost way
Footing insecure
Broken and defeated
We must brace ourselves
To rise again
For no matter how often we fall
We must rise to the challenge
To the day
To face our enemies
Because that is the meaning of life
The rise and fall
The give and take
Without which
We cannot live

Sing

Weep not when angels fall
They do so every day
Cheer when men gain wings
And rise above the fray
Banish fears and sorrows
For they drag us down to earth
Search for knowledge and enlightenment
Value your own self worth
Other’s opinions are pointless
And vengeance is a wasteful thing
Giving up and letting go
Can make your conscience sing
So sing me songs of sleeping spirits
Those things that go bump in the night
And call me when your conscience soars
To new and unlimited heights

Rain Will Fall Again

Soon tomorrow’s coming
Can today last forever?
I know that the sun must rise
How many times must I?
I’ve fallen so many times
Many times I’ve been pushed
They rejoice in seeing
My face in the mud
I won’t let them see the tears
Mixed with the dirt
If you cry in the rain
It hides the tears well
I’ve stopped walking in the sun
When the sun rises
You will be gone
I will go back to hiding my face
Then the rain will fall again

Coin Flip Poems

Everyone holds in them the possibility of being light or dark, hope and

joy.  Here are two poems that show both sides of the coin, so to speak.

JARS OF CLAY
Jars of clay can’t capture of hearts
Hands can’t hold our spirits
Break us down to our component parts
We still retain our specialness
In the break of dawn we will rise
Our hearts will soar to new heights
Every new day we sing new praise
Tomorrow brings new challenges

                                                                                                               JUST OUT OF REACH
Reaching for the stars just out of grasp
                                                                                                    Falling further and further away
                                                                                                                               I don’t know
                                                                                                             I keep reaching overhead
                                                                                                        Knowing they just get away
The stars will align for their own desperate need
Needing no help for anyone here
                                                                                                                    Why should I think
                                                                                                         That I’m someone special?
                                                                                                                 I shed one single tear
