Not arguing today

Words get in the way

Sorry falls on deaf ears

And the world is waiting

For the clamour of the voices

Breathing

When your name falls trippingly from my tongue
And you enter my consciousness
We breathe together into the night
Bodies and hearts entwined
The world goes away
Nothing exists but us
The darkness is enveloping
We two
Breathing
Together

Vision

When the world is too dizzy
Looking out at the view
I close my eyes and envision
The aura of you
You glow in warm colors
Bright greens and blues
Bathed in radiant silver
A most electric hue
The thought somehow frights me
Yet still I have to smile
Elation overtakes me
Enveloped by you

Loss

I used to think like you
To be young and naive
When the world was my oyster
And all my wishes fulfilled
But now I bare the scars
Of life obtained
The days unlived
And the time spent in sorrow
I know you will join me one day
And for that loss
For those sorrows yet to come
I pity you

Again

Do you feel the pull?
Has it begun to burn within you?
Soon it will start
The howling and the wailing
That uncontrollable urge
Needing to be together
To be bound in flesh
As well as in spirit
You will beg
Crawl on bended knee
Until you bow before me
And the world begins again

Now

You know the answer as do I
A brazen breath, a settled sigh
The wind is right, the time is now
When curtain falls, we take our bow
If the world is ending here
We two have nothing to fear
We plan the future, continue on
Perfecting together the same old song

When the world falls down around us

That other place is gone now
It vanished far away
The world is turning on its head
The sky is faded black
My world exists because of you
That's an established fact

Intent

I'm not sure anymore what color your eyes are
Or if they light your face they way they used to
Or If the spark is still there
But I do know how you melt when we speak
How the world is better with you in it
How time moves slower when you're away
If this works out it won't matter anyway
We two will rule the world
Because our world will be each other

Nightly, stopping for Eternity

Ignoring the world, forgetting all Else

Time and daylight appear to play
Hearts seem to feint and swoon
Birds sing a happy tune
Serenading a midday moon
Man and Maid and merriment
As the world resume its proper spin
Love not bought but only lent
A new game now to begin

Light imbues all it touches
Waking the world, making it feel bold

Brighter now and harsher
The light remove the dark dank spaces
There is no place to hide
The wide and luminous blaze
Has cleared the shadows from faces

Some do think us naive
We two have only surrendered
We allow ourselves to believe

They don't perceive the true cost

A patient pause gives way
Two hearts fluttering in time
As space between them builds
Their peace slowly dying
A beautifully staged play
But now the page turns
No longer bound as one
The world crashes and burns
All things are ending now
As everything eventually must
Time has come to concede
Return this relationship to dust

Space

You fit so neatly behind me
Like the missing piece of a puzzle
Cozy corners
We share a space never meant for two
Wrapped in a haze of blue and gold
As the world lays silent and waiting
The sun touches the horizon
I am alone
This space has grown
Now meant to hold two
I feel small
