You've seen the naked truth of me

Haunting my days and nights

Our souls bears burdens together

When you leave to meet the dawn

My heart gently breaks

The world seems big and scary

I can only withstand the pain

Knowing you will be with be soon

Sometimes I forget I'm alone
With your voice still echoing in my ear
I forget sometimes I'm alone
While listening on the phone
While wiping rain that looks like tears
I tell myself they are not fears
I try to forget how sometimes I'm so alone

Colors

Blue is the color of his eyes
The color of the sky
Clouding over with rain

Green is the color of my heart
Envious of others
Sharing in his love

Gold is the color of our duty
Bound forevermore
Circles of gold

Treasured

We shared the rain for a while
But then the sky when blue
Led by your warm, radiant smile
The clouds hid from view
Days shared are golden
Treasured, precious and few
Love makes me bold in
All I say and do

Peace

The sky has gone gray-green and soft
As we lay in each other's arms
The clouds are no longer threatening
Just gently covering the sun like a blanket
From the shelter of you, I see the rain
It does not frighten or discomfort
All the world is peaceful from here
Let's let everything else just disappear

It's a plain dreary rain
I watch from my window pane
It's time for moving on
But I'm stuck here with the pain
Time is fleetly flying
And patience has me sighing
I've waited here so long
Just knowing this and crying
You left me here forever
My heart about to sever
My life is barren, I withdrawal
I've lost my only tether

I used to like the rain...

I used to like the rain

Its gentle pattern

The nice cozy feeling

Even the thunder and the lightning

Splitting the sky and sending shivers

Then a rainbow, a promise to all

But the promise is just words

As my body screams

Some mumbo jumbo about pressure and moisture

Sure as the rainfall

Has a different meaning now

A thousand phrases

Have added colors

Unfortunately they all seem to be

Muddy Footprints

If you walk beside me in the rain

Can I walk with you in the sun?

Our feet splash the sidewalk together

The mud covers our shoes

It would be cool if we touched

I’m content to share air and mud

The sun warns our entwined spaces

Just a little while longer

Then I’ll pass along

I’ll go the other way

You go right, I’ll go left

The sun will go away

Rain will come

Shadows will stay

All that will be left are

Muddy footprints

Rain Will Fall Again

Soon tomorrow’s coming

Can today last forever?

I know that the sun must rise

How many times must I?

I’ve fallen so many times

Many times I’ve been pushed

They rejoice in seeing

My face in the mud

I won’t let them see the tears

Mixed with the dirt

If you cry in the rain

It hides the tears well

I’ve stopped walking in the sun

When the sun rises

You will be gone

I will go back to hiding my face

Then the rain will fall again

Hiatus

Who will be here when we break?

To pick the pieces up?

Cracks begin to show already love

Fading in the sun

It’s never peaceful in the wind and rain

Time is spent waiting

For the storm to end

But it’s only a pause

Hiatus

Then a frantic run to shelter

What happens when that shelter

Is no longer there?

Will we race downstream in the flood?

Will we whip wildly in the wind?

All we can do is take cover

The best we can until

The storm is over

Plant our feet in solid ground

Comfort each other

Together

Survive the deluge

Control

As I sit lost and hurt
Thoughts sped across my mind
Lying in dirt with a broken heart
Space and blood puddles in gallons at a time
The atmosphere is completely clear
Till my conscience starts to blur the sky
The trees start to sway
The breeze is not gentle
Lightning starts to streak
Hail and freezing rain
Falling, Failing to
Stop my
Heart from
Breaking
