When the world is too dizzy
Looking out at the view
I close my eyes and envision
The aura of you
You glow in warm colors
Bright greens and blues
Bathed in radiant silver
A most electric hue
The thought somehow frights me
Yet still I have to smile
Elation overtakes me
Enveloped by you

Cresting on the horizon
The beautiful orange, red and gold
The world breaks into view
Light imbues all it touches
Waking the world, making it feel bold

Brighter now and harsher
The light remove the dark dank spaces
There is no place to hide
The wide and luminous blaze
Has cleared the shadows from faces

We shared the rain for a while
But then the sky when blue
Led by your warm, radiant smile
The clouds hid from view
Days shared are golden

A certain amount of matter

And a little bit of mass

Have found themselves together

Just to process carbon gas

A transformation ever changing

But to the world, a different view

It passes in an instant

The scars will heal so quickly

As is they had never been

Nightmare

The light is gone and hid from view

It disappeared one day

And took with it the sun and moon

‘Caused joy to pass away

A glimmer is all ‘twould take

To make the world okay

But now our life blood spills away

And we wait in nightless day

We’ll feast on the returning

Step once more, into the fray

Until that day, we shall march forth

Keeping the nightmares at bay
