Almost beyond compare

Alone in Plain Sight

 

Standing alone in plain sight
Keeping our intentions clear 
Shouldering on into the fight
Masking our peace and fear

Trying to keep intentions clear
We march forth into the fray
Suppressing our peace and our fear
We sit alone at the end of the day

Never begining to doubt
Are we alone at the end of the day?
Time to make a whisper a shout

Deception

I once saw a future for us filled with hope
One seemingly blessed by a Pope
But one can not believe all that one sees
Or did my eyes once deceive me?

I used to think like you
To be young and naive

And all my wishes fulfilled
But now I bare the scars
Of life obtained
The days unlived
And the time spent in sorrow

A brazen breath, a settled sigh
The wind is right, the time is now

Fall

We all inevitably fall.
What matters is how high we crawl,
The time we take to do it in.
Can we, mankind, pay off our sin?
Or are we bound to fall for years?
Pull up by your bootstraps my dears,
Chin up off your knees, feel cheer!
There is more than one way to win.
Perhaps we just prepare to fall.

I'm not sure anymore what color your eyes are
Or if they light your face they way they used to
Or If the spark is still there
But I do know how you melt when we speak
How the world is better with you in it
How time moves slower when you're away
If this works out it won't matter anyway

Savored sensations
Sliding slowly, sensuously,
Succeeding in assaulting my body 
Driving me increasingly mad,
Making my memories meander,
Musty, misty memories
Caught in time's bitter embrace
Embarrassing how this happens

Joy turns to pain,
