Alone

Waiting between pains
Waiting between breaths
Wishing I was between your arms instead
The heat and cold alternate in waves
Tears fill my eyes
Sweat glistens on my brow
Tied in knots
Tongue-tied
So many ways to be tied
Trying to distract myself
Watching the horizon
If the sun comes
Then I have survived
One more night
One more day
Alone

Dawn

Cresting on the horizon
The beautiful orange, red and gold
The world breaks into view
Light imbues all it touches
Waking the world, making it feel bold

Brighter now and harsher
The light remove the dark dank spaces
There is no place to hide
The wide and luminous blaze
Has cleared the shadows from faces

Space

You fit so neatly behind me
Like the missing piece of a puzzle
Cozy corners
We share a space never meant for two
Wrapped in a haze of blue and gold
As the world lays silent and waiting
The sun touches the horizon
I am alone
This space has grown
Now meant to hold two
I feel small
Waiting for you
To return

Untitled 555

Storm rising on the horizon
I remember dancing among the lightning
It never touched my body
Only my soul
Scorching where it hit
Binding us together
As we walked
Hand in hand
Calmly
In a forest of lightning

I Need My Pain

Can you calm my fears?
I’m drowning in neuroses
You settle them all with a wave and a smile
When I look up again
Did I blink too long?
You’ve disappeared while my eyes were closed
If I wish hard enough
Can I blink you back?
Will you come if I promise to be well be behaved?
The light creeps over the horizon
The sun begins to rise
I have wished away the lonely nighttime
The light is too bright
It burns away the darkness
But sometimes we need the pain to make us who we are
So come to me quickly
Or come after the New Year
But come to me eventually or I will never get over this fear

The Other Path...

Blue so deep it bends toward infinity
Purple so dark it ceases to be
Edge of light creeps towards the horizon
Tomorrow comes with certainty
Crickets begin their nightly chorus
A decide chill fills the air
With rising hopes but shattered spirit
Quiet night fills the solemn forest
Tread wisely here, take your time
It’s a hazardous path you choose
The benefits outweigh the cost
You’re time has come to shine

Some Poetry I found while Cleaning out my Computer ***

Running in circles in my mind
Silence eats away at patience
Time heals nothing
If scabs never form
Pressure remains constant
Soul crushing pain
Heart wrenching
All consuming
Back to the beginning

You’ll never love me
 I’m not pretty or thin
I’m not up to your standards
I’m never gonna win

We’ll never be the perfect pair
They were always right
They said we were to different
They say how much we fight

You two will work much better
She seems much better for you
She make you happier
She better not make you blue

Floating feelings becomes tangled
Boiling up bubbles full of tears
Tomorrows dance across the horizon
Ready to race, reason for rhyme
Startling vision, sparkling sight
Newfound glory, gradient spikes.
Purple columns rising
Higher in the sky,
From now until forever,
Perfectly pleasant pair.

From now on I need to steel myself from the darkness,
My hard choices need to come swiftly now
One follow another in rapid succession
Time has come to rise to the action and make bold statements
Not always the popular decisions to bear the burdens
A life of single blessedness is a cursed choice
What is necessary is right in God eye and mine
