       Would  the wind whisper it back to me?

       Would the stars light it in the skies?

       Would the seas spill your secrets?

If my heart forgot to beat…

       Would you breathe my breath for me?

       Would you cradle me in your arms?

       Would you share your life in my veins?

If the world were to end tomorrow…

       Would air still move through the land?

       Would fire still burn?

       Would our tears quench the parched earth?

Grey Skies

Grey Skies

The dark clouds are heavy in the sky

They brim with the tears of heaven

It falls with desperate longing

I look out my window

The drops fall faster

A heavy heart

When it stops

Skies clear

Calm

I’d forgotten about these weird little forms of poems.  This is a Nonet.  It starts with nine syllable then each line has a decrease if one syllable until the last line which has one.  Interesting.  But I needed a form tonight. Lacking inspiration.

Hiding in plain sight

With no spies to fell me

Who would ever suspect

This pathetic shell

Not good enough

For anyone to notice

Antonio’s Struggle

Is mine as well

Not that I’m smart

Or pretty or talented

Or any such qualifier

That marks me as great

When everyone notices

Actions that get taken

But never the person

That’s making the waves

Calms seas are coming

The skies will grow blue

After the storm comes

The rainbow shows through
