The sky has gone gray-green and soft
As we lay in each other's arms
The clouds are no longer threatening
Just gently covering the sun like a blanket
From the shelter of you, I see the rain
It does not frighten or discomfort
All the world is peaceful from here
Let's let everything else just disappear

Love means...
Love means …
Knowing all your secrets
Reaching out and never doubting
That a hand will be there
That feeling in the pit of your stomach
Is only from nerves,
Never your love
Love is as steady as
The ground beneath my feet
The first flush of lust
Grows into a beautiful rose of romance
Constant as the North Star
A shelter in any storm
Our love will hold fast
Together we can conquer the world

Hiatus
Who will be here when we
break?
To pick the pieces up?
Cracks begin to show already
love
Fading in the sun
It’s never peaceful in the
wind and rain
Time is spent waiting
For the storm to end
But it’s only a pause
Hiatus
Then a frantic run to shelter
What happens when that
shelter
Is no longer there?
Will we race downstream in
the flood?
Will we whip wildly in the
wind?
All we can do is take cover
The best we can until
The storm is over
Plant our feet in solid
ground
Comfort each other
Together
Survive the deluge
