Never wanting, always wishing

There will come a day

When there will be nothing left to say

The heart only has so much blood

And can only break so many times

So if there was ever a way

Time could be written for me

Today the last chance to flee

Before the world comes crashing down

Until there is no cure

There is only so much you can do

It’s not your problem to solve

There’s no reason to get involved

Strangers make the best of friends

As long as no one ever cares

Beg, Borrow, or Steal our way

To money, fortune and fame

Anything we can do to further our names

As long as we promote our cause

If we get our fifteen minutes

I’ll leave the fame, thank you very much

I’m content to just be me

I just wish everyone could see

There are two sides to every story

Only one is generally heard

To the victor go the spoils

To the loser not a word

Who cares what happens later

If the losing is the cost

When the time has come for counting

The die has to be tossed

A decision must be made

An answer must be given

Time cannot be stretched

When the battle’s over

When the dust has cleared

No one ever really wins

It’s always worse than feared

This parable is not about

A war torn battleground

But the battles faced everyday
