I once saw a future for us filled with hope
One seemingly blessed by a Pope
But one can not believe all that one sees
Or did my eyes once deceive me?

I feel the prison closing in

More caged day by day

Pacing the same track over and over

My confinement has yet to begin

But that word to me implies children

The one cage of which I am free

Just imprisoned by my own body

Not really enough to cause fuss

Frustrated and flustered always

Tired, in pain and alone

My prison is not my own making

I still hope to one day be free

The flames are burning higher

Enjoy your time of fun

The passion of a burning fire

Burns brightly and fervid in the mind

As long as pleasure never tires

Providing nourishment for the mind

Can counteract any ennui

Give partners time to unwind

No question about it, patience is key

We’ve heard it time and again

The love we share will keep us free

If this is not your ideal plan, call me friend

I’ll content myself with just that

I’ll rather be wanted then hated again

But once we were a lot of fun

The Dog Days of Summer

The heat is gone

 But now it’s back

August is dragging on

Laying out on the lawn

But only if, an umbrella you pack

And August is dragging on

I know that time still marches on

Although sometime it seem to go forth and not back

And August keeps dragging on

I don’t understand the game in which I’m a pawn

As the Dog Days of Summer at your heels, will bark

And, still, uninterruptedly, August drags on and on…

When will it end? It keeps plowing on

Telling me, waiting, knowing they can keep a mark

Down they say,

                            One more day!

                            One more day!

              And August no more will drag on

              Although we long will be gone

              Free to hide and fight on

              Or walk and write on

              Our battle will be ceased

              Because we know
