A silent counterpart on my journey 

Keeping me company where I tread 

Dispelling all my fears and worries

 

Tell me not of tragic woes. 

I want to share your joys 

Speak to me of highs, not lows 

We'll rise above the maddening noise. 

The future comes on unflighted wing.

No faster than today, 

Let us live, our hearts will sing 

And greet the coming day.

The essence of you
Distilled
Waifs through the air
Carried on a silent breeze
You murmur sweet nothings
In my ear
As you run light fingers
Over my salty skin
While we watch the sun rise

You fit so neatly behind me
Like the missing piece of a puzzle
Cozy corners
We share a space never meant for two
Wrapped in a haze of blue and gold
As the world lays silent and waiting
The sun touches the horizon
I am alone
This space has grown
Now meant to hold two
I feel small
Waiting for you
To return

The thought of being without you

As daylight creeps up my window

What’s missing from my view is you

And it burns more it each day

It’s getting more painful to say

How much I love you and in every way

The distance grows farther

And more silent every day
