Wait...
Till it's hopeless
Till the light fades
Till the words stop

Not even..
When I beg
When I crawl
When I stop

Then...
All fails
Nothing matters
Everything stops

Mud Doesn't Become you...

Never meant to be

For fiction fails us now

There are no fairy tale princes

No midnight rides

No pumpkin carriages

All there is

The here and now

Crashing notes of reality

Burdens of normality

Pain and regret

Tempered by the fact

That at least

I’m not dragging you

Down with me

For as much as you

Would raise me higher than I’ve ever been

I come from the gutters

People tend to get trapped here

I wouldn’t want you caught

Mud doesn’t become you

Simply Stories

I’d like to believe in fairy tales

But I’m not that naive

Fairy tales are simply stories

Something little girls like to believe

And if you look closely at them

Cinderella is only a maid

Being tortured by stepsisters

Abused by relatives, overworked and underpaid

Everyone’s favorite Snow White

Is the marvelous fluke

A glorified servant

Who marries a Duke!

The best one by far

Is the stone cold fish

Who by choosing her love, loses her voice

How’s that for a wish?

So why must we choose these

Over glamorous tales

I’d rather have something else

Even if that something else fails
