You ride it in a steady pace

Then the true race begins
Heart pounding
A stitch in your side can't even stop you
Bearing down to push
Harder and faster
Quicker and more rapidly
As wild as the sea
Until you arrive
Where your kingdom is awaiting

Grey Skies

The dark clouds are heavy in the sky

They brim with the tears of heaven

It falls with desperate longing

I look out my window

The drops fall faster

A heavy heart

When it stops

Skies clear

Calm

I’d forgotten about these weird little forms of poems.  This is a Nonet.  It starts with nine syllable then each line has a decrease if one syllable until the last line which has one.  Interesting.  But I needed a form tonight. Lacking inspiration.

An Ember Burns Higher Then Flames Prodded Higher

A spark lights the way

It glows like a fay

It burns higher and faster

Leading quickly to disaster

You must prove who is the master

Or else you will pay

So as the fire you lay

Remember that they they say

As the fire blows past her

An ember burns longer then flames prodded higher

Keep this mindful, don’t delay

Whatever else you say

It must be held fast or

It spells true disaster

Because it’s true what they say
