As winds chill my bones
Talking to the forgotten
Talking to myself
Only you would know or care
Who shares these whispered words
Secrets told to ghosts
Memory held in bond
A fire banked and ready
Feed the flame

How long shall I wait for you?
Does waiting prove my love more true?
Not sure what thought hurts me most
Either way my heart is blue

The past is coming to haunt me in ghosts
Asking who I love the most
My answer should not surprised at all
I hope that God forgives my boast

But you have me in total thrall
Over and over again I fall
I just hope you love me too
Or you shall be my downfall

There’s only me

Standing there without him

The lights all fade

To the darkest of blacks

So deep that it burns

Inner demons attack

Swarming and seething

Eating mind and spirit

An all consuming power

No wonder I fear it

That empty stage

That lights on old ghosts

Brings light to the darkness

To what we fear most

So don’t leave me here

In the dark and alone

Give me thunderous cheers

Blank Canvas

I might be in over my head

This boulder is rolling down the cliffside

I only wanted to share my joy

But I might lose what I find most precious

The harsh light causes me to shut my eyes

But its warmth still causes me to smile

And reaching up, pull the shutters closed

I wonder if there is a way to have

Both the light and darkness

My indecision has cost me in the past

There are ghost that whisper my name

Hard drives can never be truly erased

Everyone has files that can’t be deleted

Sometimes it’s easier to just share space

If you don’t share all your secrets

What you don’t know can’t be held against you

I’m afraid I don’t know anything at all

I’m a student of the universe

Teach me, for I’m a blank canvas
