The Air I Breathe

I would turn you away

Even if you begged

I’m not worthy of your estimation

I’m not really even worthy of a thought

Time wasted on me could be better spent

Telling tales of days gone by,

Bringing the future to life,

Learning of wonders yet to be

Because I will NEVER be worthy of you.

I may not be smart, or pretty or talented

But of this I am certain with all my crushed being,

I am barely worth the air I breathe
