Numb

Bodies intertwined
Made of the same flesh
Death by pain and sacrifice
Still there nonetheless
It’s the strangest feeling
Knowing that it’s there
It’s still a part of you
It hardly seems to be fair
It takes up all your nourishment
It makes you bear its weight
But when you need its wisdom
It always comes too late
Someday it will recover
And death will be reborn
Until that day can find me
My unfeeling flesh I'll mourn.
