As roses grow in summer air
Birds chase across a cloudless sky
The smells, the sounds are sweet and fair
Time moving at it's own slow pace
Sitting under an oak with a sigh
Hands full of yarn and tattered lace
While gardens full of wonder I spy
Taking it all in with a steady heart
The world picks up its weary pace
As I see the sunset colors start
I turn my body but stay my face
Allowing the sun to lighten on my hair
Time has come from this haven to part
To leave and go where I dare
I wish had wisdom to impart
I wish I understood why
